The Fae are a very complicated group of species that can be broken down first into two categories: The Seelie and the Unseelie. From there they can be broken down further into courts, seasons, and elements. There are trouping Fae, that travel together and stick to their species and there are solitary fae.
Though the fae are often referred to as "The Good Folk", it is assumed that this was just a nice way to compliment them and placate them out of fear of their wrath to insult. The truth is that even the Seelie-- while not as malevolent as their darker counterparts, can still cause a great deal of harm. The following will break down these classifications and include a list of common fae. Keep in mind, that the lore in this game is coming from Celtic folklore and not lore from television, books or movies. Mod Notes: All fae races have to follow the morality code of either the Seelie Court or the Unseelie Court. It is bound to their fae status regardless of whether or not they're solitary or part of the court. The only exception to this are solitary fae that have denounced the courts entirely, though it leaves them vulnerable to the mortal world without the protection of the Courts. If the character you want to bring in falls under a race listed in the fae, they are fae. But again, they are not bound to the courts if you choose to play them as being unaligned and some races could fall into either court. The choice is up to you. Minor nobility of the courts are playable, If you would like to bring in a King or Queen of one of the courts, feel free to discuss your ideas with the mods, but be aware that their race will have to be Aos Sí and they are bound by the rules of whichever faction they're in charge of. Currently the King of the Spring Court is unavailable for play and is an NPC.
